how to use this site
***these pages are under construction as we finalize the changes to the logo design ..i will be adding more soon.
As you can see.. every new site will begin looking just like this. The websites themselves are powered by wordpress, apache, mysql databases, and a linux (centOS - open source version of Red Hat Linux) computer hosted at http://mediatemple.net where i do all of my hosting.
What i’ve done is built out a website that will give every agent up to 10 individual websites that are easy to control, design and manage that includes email (the absolute best gmail.. it’s mobile, dependable, spam resistant and best of all it uses yourname@hbrtwn.com) document/presentation management, and a bunch of other tools.. some of which you’ll never use. In your website, I’ve added the ability to add fancy slideshows of listings very easily. This will allow you to create your own pages for listings and other informative info for your clients (ie.. http://fudgy.hbrtwn.com/johns_island/rare_waterfront_property_for_sale
or http://johnsisland-realestate.hbrtwn)
if you already have a website.. good, but i encourage you to use this one in colaboration with your others site.. or to redirect your website domain to your domain with hbrtwn.com because it will be easier to manage and you don’t have to change your business cards.
Speaking of.. in your account center you will find newly minted Harbourtowne and Trident Real Estate’s forms and documents to download in word and pdf format. We are also encouraging our agents to use their hbrtwn.com email address in collaboration with the newly minted logos as an email signature.

1) Let’s get started
lets assume you would like a four page website about yourself and your current listings.. the first thing to do is to activate your account with hbrtwn.com and google.com.. you do this by logging into this page with the user and password creditials you have been sent. (email me and i’ll resend them to you).
1)Editing Creating new Pages
all editing of webpages is done using a wysiwyg (what you see is what you get editor)
by default your new pages will display an about page and one post. The difference between pages and post is that pages are displayed in the navigation and post occur in order of date last posted on your front page.
you can change this by logging in.

Changing Design
the design of each site is set to replicate that of hbrtwn.com in a template that i’ve customized.. but you may change this by navigating to presentation and switching themes.. i’ve included over two hundred different templates to choose from. Remember that images and formatting will depend on which design you choose.

Adding Listings
adding your listings from ctar to hbrtwn.com will be automatic and the images you upload to ctar will appear in your listings. I would encourage you to build your own pages for every listing that includes larger images and more details.
